Bench-Goals for next challenge
Written by jzh898 on March 24, 2009 – 7:12 am -Well I did my workout yesterday and ended up doing my bench at the end of it and to my suprise I was able to bench 245lbs 3x which is a personal best. I wonder what I would have been able to do if I did my bench first. I really feel my body changing and I can see much muscle definition. It feels great to know that I can accomplish things when I set my mind to it.
I have been thinking about goals for the next 52dc and have come up with a couple. 1. 2000 push-ups (this will really make me work hard but worth the effort). 2. Body weight squats increasing weight as I go. 3. Lose weight (I will determine the amount after this challenge) 4. Ride mountain bike (will figure out how many miles) 5. Read 2 books 6. Improve on my CE 7. Bench 275lbs 5x. These goals will be tough to reach but they are very doable, I just need to put my mind to it and they will happen.
What will really add to this challenge is the fact that our business is picking up and we are starting to get really busy. The web store should be ready around the first week of April (many delays) so that will also add to the work load. Throw in a little travel and my summer will be booked.

Final 2 weeks of 52DC
Written by jzh898 on March 23, 2009 – 7:30 am -Well it is getting closer to the end of the challenge. I had no idea how hard it would be to do. CE’s have been my toughest challenge but I keep pushing through. I found that I have more drive than I ever believed, I really enjoy working out and love the feeling afterwards. Push-ups have become so much easier for me and I can’t wait to see how many I finish with. I didn’t really know what to expect with my goals, didn’t know if they were to easy or to hard. I have found nothing is to hard to do and you can always increase goals as you go. So now it is time to push hard for the next two weeks and really see what I have.

Drive
Written by jzh898 on March 18, 2009 – 2:46 pm -It is amazing how I feel guilty if I miss a day of working out. I have the drive to better myself so I really look forward to my workouts. It is hard to take rest days but I know it is best for my body. Now that the weather is starting to warm up I will be getting out on the mountain bike on the weekends. Such a relaxing thing to do.
I am going to start Monday doing body weight squats to get my body use to them. I will slowly increase weight so that I don’t damage my knee. I have gotten over worring about how much weight I am lifting and doing what my body tells me. I will accomplish this goal.

Challenge
Written by jzh898 on March 9, 2009 – 9:22 am -Well so far I am happy with my progress, I have been sticking with the challenge and I feel much better about my goals. I will surpass my PG of 400 push-ups (120 away from goal) then I will move on to the weight goal still keeping up with my push-ups. CE’s are still a challenge but I will accomplish my goal and continue on with clean eating. My body feels so much better since I have been eating healthy and I am learning new ways to cook healthy meals.
My cold is finally breaking up so I will be back at the gym when it is over (don’t want to get others sick). With the economy not looking so good I am happy that business for us is picking up, we landed 2 more big accounts and everything is headed in the right direction. Overall I am satisfied with where things are at, from here on out they are going to keep getting better.

Not keeping up on my blog
Written by jzh898 on March 6, 2009 – 2:01 pm -Holy crap am I lazy! It has been quite a while since I last posted. I could make up some excuse but that will not accomplish anything.
I have been sticking with the 52DC and posting daily. My push-ups are coming along, I am on pace to destroy my goal. I would set it higher but I want to be able to focus on my other goals and get them marked off. I have been having great results with my bench press, I am up to 235lbs, started at 185lbs. I used to bench like 215 when I was working out years ago. I figure the increase is do to my hard work the past couple of months. I gave squatts a try and my knee just doesn’t like them so I will start doing body weight squats.
So far I am satisfied with my progress and will continue to keep at it. The end results is all the motivation I need.
